WELCOME TO CLASS! I feel fortunate to have you in my class. Please show the same trust and appreciation every day for the course, myself, yourself, and your classmates, and we will all achieve greatness together. You must have the following supplies every day in class in order to earn higher than a "D" for a final grade. Most students will find it difficult to pass at all without these organizational supplies, however. Make it happen, or advocate for yourself (tell me!) if there are difficulties in acquiring the following. I will help you. CLASS SUPPLY LIST: - 3-ring binder (1" is good)
- 5 tab/dividers you can label
- Loose-leaf paper 100 sheets (spiral or perforated paper will not be accepted)
- Black/Blue ink pens (papers written in other colors will not be accepted)
- Pencil
- Highlighter
- Hole-punch (thin ruler-looking ones that fit right into your binder) - if possible
ABSENCES - If you are absent from ANY class and want to 'make up' work you must bring in a written and dated excusable absence-note from a parent/guardian the very first day back to class. I must see the note. Be sure there's a working phone number on it. There are no exceptions to this rule. You will not be able to make up tests any other way. CHECK GRADES - PARENTS: COME INTO SCHOOL TO SEE MR. GRIGGS OR MR. STREETER TO GET YOUR PIN NUMBER FOR ACCESS TO GRADES ANY TIME. Your child will receive 50 points extra credit if you contact me through the Parent Portal. Disclaimer: No grade is final as a Daily Classwork Grade is kept in teacher's possession and only added (or subtracted) at end of term. These collectively could raise or lower a 'final' grade by one letter grade. Please ask all students to advocate for themselves regarding ANY grade by seeing me during my office hours printed below.
